To be Apostolic is to be “like the Apostles.” It is to preach the same message and to teach the same spiritual truths. The Apostles sermons and teachings are recorded in the book of Acts, and their letters are preserved in the New Testament.
We place great importance in the words of the Apostles because Jesus did. Jesus taught them and prepared them to carry out His gospel and spread it into all the world. He left His work in their hands. And they fulfilled His command.
The Apostle Peter summed it up in the first message preached by one of the Apostles. In reply to the question “What must we do?” Peter said, “Repent and baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.” (Acts 2;38) Read “The Keys“.
Today, those of the Apostolic Faith preach exactly the same gospel message.
