Johnston City UPC believes that the youth are not just the church of the future, but the church of today.
Our youth have regular activities including a dedicated Sunday School with a heart toward helping our students grow in God’s word and practical applications. The youth also participate in a variety of youth services and youth rallies. The JCUPC youth also attend the annual Illinois Youth Convention as well as the bi-annual North American Youth Congress. Students also have many opportunities throughout the year for service to the church and community as well as several social activities.
C2 is a group geared toward high school graduate age through young adults. The purpose of this group is to allow those that are just entering their career or college to be in fellowship with those that have gone through this stage of life and are entering the next phase of adulthood. Each of these can help and encourage one another in their walks with God, strengthening one another in fellowship, fun trips, cook outs, pizza parties, and game nights.
More Than Conquerors
MTC is for our middle aged group, ranging from those with older children through to those just beginning the “empty nest” stage of their lives. Each member of this group is bound together by the common ground of being the core of our church. Through the experiences in life they have each shared, they bring a strength when together and enjoy having times of fellowship throughout the year.
For the elders of the church we have the Prime Timers group. They enjoy getting together to fellowship with one another several times throughout the year.
We provide Nursery for children up to age 4. Nursery is available on Sunday mornings and Sunday evenings. It is a safe place for children to receive care while parents enjoy service.
JCUPC provides Sunday School for ages from nursery through high school. We believe Sunday School is important to the spiritual health, growth, and maturity of children and students. Sunday School focuses on teaching Bible stories and life application of Bible lessons.
JCUPC believes in reaching out to our community to share the gospel of The Lord Jesus. It is the ‘good news’ that changes lives and we want to share this message with those we come in contact with daily. JCUPC has several outreach functions throughout the year focusing on different areas of our community and our church. In addition, our outreach program has a focus on teaching in-home Bible studies as well as equipping our members to teach Bible studies.
